Singh Not Willing to Break Ranks
Federal New Democrat Leader Jagmeet Singh is not willing to break ranks with the minority government, despite some Parliamentarians expressing willingness to do so.
In a keynote convention speech, Singh explained his reasoning for his agreement with the government. He said he believes it is the best way to ensure the passage of progressive legislation, such as the establishment of a national pharmacare program and dental care.
Singh also said he has survived his leadership review, with support from his caucus. He said he is confident in his ability to lead the party to victory in the next federal election.
